Honey is a natural humectant, which means it has the ability to attract and retain moisture. The skin’s ability to stay moist (or hydrated) is an important factor in its ability to maintain softness, suppleness and elasticity. As skin ages, or as it is exposed to environmental stresses and chemical agents, it loses its ability to retain water; it becomes dry and appears wrinkled. Honey’s natural hydrating properties make it ideal for use in moisturizing products.

Soothing Skin Clarifier (for minor acne flare-ups)

Mix 1/2 cup warm water with 1/4 teaspoon salt. Using a cotton ball, apply directly to blemish. Maintain pressure with cotton ball for several minutes, to soften blemish. Using a cotton swab, dab honey on blemish; leave on 10 minutes. Rinse and pat dry.

Firming Facial Mask

Whisk together 1 tablespoon honey, 1 egg white, 1 teaspoon glycerin (available at drug and beauty stores) and enough flour to form a paste. Smooth over face and throat. Leave on 10 minutes. Wash off with warm water.

Hair Conditioner

Mix 1/2 cup honey with 1/4 cup olive oil. (Use 2 tablespoons oil for normal to oily hair.) Using a small amount at a time, work mixture through hair until coated. Cover hair with a shower cap; leave on 30 minutes. Remove shower cap; shampoo well and rinse. Dry as normal.

It’s normal to be mad! A few weeks passed since you are using the ultimate product on the market and you still can’t see any results. The causes could be multiple: it can’t adapt to your skin, it doesn’t contain any special ingredients or your expectations were too high.

My advice is to always buy something which is easy to use even if you buy the whole range of products for skin care. If you have to remove your makeup, apply a beauty mask, wash it with warm water, apply a night moisturizer then a day moisturizer and finally apply an eye cream, you will probably quit your job and stay at home so you can do all those steps every day. Nobody has time for that every day, you need something that works fast and takes at most 15 minutes. Just go and buy a vitamin and hydrating moisturizer and a beauty mask which has to be applied once a week.

Do remember that if it’s made from natural ingredients you have few chances to get a rash from it. Maybe natural products are more expensive but your skin sure deserves it.

Price does not indicate quality all the time so you don’t have to spend a fortune for cosmetics (unless you are a star and you make a fortune a day). Also remember that if the product is suitable for your type of skin and it’s applied daily, you will se results.

Nowadays our society rhythm is very alert and we are always busy; we must make some time to take care of your most important thing: health. We don’t eat properly, we don’t exercise enough and we even forget to relax. All these are very important for a healthy body and skin. The next time you overwork yourself, look in the mirror and if you don’t like what you see, you will think twice before accept to stay at work after program.

Sun and pollution also have a negative influence on our skin; they help the body create free radicals which lead to premature aging. Specialists recommend using antioxidant products to prevent skin aging. Intensive hydrating treatments and vitamin A help the reconstruction of collagen and elastin(two important components of our skin).Vitamin c accelerate the production of collagen and elastin and coenzyme Q10 is essential to maintain the normal skin functions.
Try to include those in your daily skin treatment and it won’t be too affected by the environment.

Myths about cellulite

Magazines, TV and mostly friends usually create false ideas about certain issues. Cellulite is a subject which concerns all of us and sometimes you hear different opinions about it but you have to be careful because not all of them are true.

  1.

If you drink a lot of water you will get rid of your cellulite. False- if you don’t suffer from dehydration, water will not help and in some cases it will make it worse because after all, cellulite is composed of fat tissue and water.

  2. A good exercise routine prevents cellulite. False again. Even athletes have cellulite but a good exercise routine keeps our muscles fortified and our body healthy.
  3. Liposuction gets rid of cellulite. False. Actually liposuction can make cellulite worse. Liposuction is not a simple surgery and its purpose is to eliminate fat deposits, not cellulite.
  4. Only women have cellulite. False. It’s a little discriminating, isn’t it? Well, the truth is that men have cellulite too but the cases are very rare. This happens to the men who have a low testosterone level, a passive lifestyle and a diet rich in fats.
