Giving Yourself A Pedicure
If you are finding that the nice weather is coming faster then you can get to the salon then you may want to look into giving yourself a pedicure. There is nothing too complicated about it and while it may be more fun to have someone else work on your feet for you, there are many benefits that comes from giving yourself a pedicure. For starters, you are in complete control and can make sure that all of the equipment the touch your feet are one hundred percent clean. This means that you are less likely to end up getting any infections on your feet or in the beds of your toenails. Also, you can find everything you need in the beauty products aisle of your local grocery store.
The first thing that you will want to do is to remove any and all toenail polish from your nails. Then soak your feet in luke warm water for about ten minutes or so. If you are not allergic to it, go ahead and add some Epsom salt to the water or any other kind of commercial foot soak that is out there. Once your feet have soaked for about ten minutes, go ahead and clip the toenails and make sure that you are clipping straight across to prevent ingrown toenails.
After you have clipped the toenails, make sure that you file any rough edges and push the cuticles back. A cuticle moisturizer can be used to help if they cuticles are not pushing back easy after being soaked. Once that is all said and done you can then go ahead and use some lotion to moisturize your feet. Feel free to take a pumice stone to rough areas of the foot in order to be completely smooth. Now you can place some cotton balls between your toes and polish them any color you want. Just make sure to top it all off with a clear finish and you will be good to go.
