Acne Skin Care Tips

Almost everyone has had a problem with acne and if not, everyone has at least had a pimple or two in their life. Acne is a common problem that is easily resolved with the proper skin care. Below you will find some tips you can follow for acne free skin.
Wash your skin daily using only a mild soap. You do not want to wash more than twice a day as this can actually cause issues with your skin. A simple wash in the morning and at night before you retire for bed will do just fine. Avoid perfumed soaps, rough facial scrubs and other skin products that can worsen the acne problem.
Astringents can be used to help with acne, however, limit their use to problem areas only. If you suffer from oily skin, this is when astringents will work the best. Also, avoid using petroleum or oil based products that you might find in certain cleansers or soaps. These types of products are usually PH neutral and do nothing for acne prone skin. Use products that are natural such as witch hazel, tea tree oil, Aloe Vera and other herbal botanicals rather than harsh chemical filled products.
Avoid popping those pimples. This not only worsens the problem, it can also cause spreading and scarring. Avoid extreme sun exposure or sun tanning booths as well as this will not help the situation but only cover it up.
Glowing skin happens from the inside out meaning it is also important to watch what you put into your body. Acne is caused due to poor diet habits. It is important to drink plenty of water and eat foods rich in fiber such as fruits, nuts, flaxseeds, prunes, whole grains, salads, legumes, apples and other essential foods. Also make sure you are staying active to keep your blood circulation flowing. People who are inactive tend to have problems with cellulite, acne and other pimples.
